SOTC Franchise India 2026: Cost, Commission, ROI & Apply Guide

Winter travel bookings are rising and SOTC’s official franchise page publishes a ₹7–20 lakh investment benchmark. Understand franchise fee, space, package commission, lead generation, cancellations and customer-fund liability before opening a travel outlet.

A franchise can reduce some of the uncertainty of starting a business, but it does not remove business risk. The best decisions come from comparing facts, testing assumptions and getting independent advice.

01

Why SOTC franchise is timely in November 2026

Winter and year-end travel planning is accelerating: an October 2026 festive-travel report said November stay bookings were 43% higher than at the same point a year earlier. SOTC also appears among current high-ranking Indian franchise opportunities. Seasonal interest can produce enquiries, but a travel outlet still needs local lead generation, accurate advice and careful handling of cancellations and customer money.

02

Apply only through the official SOTC route

Start at sotc.in/franchisee-enquiry and retain the form acknowledgement. Independently confirm every caller, proposal, bank beneficiary and agreement through the company details published on sotc.in/reach-us. Do not pay an individual, forwarded WhatsApp contact or lookalike travel website for guaranteed territory, branch approval, airline allocation or urgent onboarding.

Questions worth asking

What is included in the investment? What support continues after launch? Which assumptions drive the payback estimate?

03

What SOTC currently publishes about setup cost

The official franchise page states a total investment range of roughly ₹7–20 lakh, including a ₹3–7 lakh franchise fee depending on the city and about ₹5–7 lakh for infrastructure. It lists 300–550 square feet and one franchisee employee, with the franchise fee valid for a three-year renewable agreement. Obtain a current city-specific quotation before committing to property.

04

Treat the published ROI period as an estimate

SOTC’s page currently indicates an expected ROI period of about 24–36 months. This is a brand-published estimate, not a guaranteed outcome. Ask which outlet cohort, sales mix, owner involvement, commission rates, staff costs and local marketing assumptions produced it. Model a slower case with fewer bookings, lower conversion and refund-heavy months before arranging funds.

05

Understand who actually operates and sells

The official model says SOTC provides a dedicated branch manager on its payroll, software, training and marketing support, while the partner funds the outlet, operating costs, local lead generation and administrative support. Confirm the manager’s authority, attendance, replacement process and targets, plus exactly which tasks and liabilities remain with the franchisee and its employee.

06

Commission must be modelled product by product

Request the current written payout for domestic packages, international packages, group departures, customised holidays, cruises, visas, insurance and any referral product. Calculate contribution only after discounting, payment cost, local leads, staff, rent and marketing. Clarify whether commission is earned at booking, full payment, departure or travel completion—and what happens after cancellation or supplier change.

07

Cancellations can reverse an apparently profitable sale

Travel bookings involve airline, hotel, visa, tour and insurance terms with different cancellation windows. Confirm who contracts with the customer, receives the money, issues the receipt, communicates changes and funds any refund. Model chargebacks, forex movement, supplier deductions, visa refusal, no-shows and force-majeure cases; preserve customer approval of the exact itinerary and cancellation policy.

08

Local enquiry conversion decides outlet economics

Map families, corporates, schools, resident associations, wedding planners and repeat travellers in the catchment. Track qualified enquiries, response time, proposal-to-booking conversion, average contribution, repeat bookings and referrals. Brand advertising may create demand, but the agreement should state how online and call-centre leads are assigned and whether the franchisee receives commission for customers from its territory.

09

Customer data and payment controls need discipline

Define approved payment links and bank accounts, receipt issuance, daily reconciliation, access to passports and identity documents, retention periods and deletion. Limit staff access to what each booking requires. Confirm who handles complaints, travel emergencies and data incidents. Never collect more sensitive information than necessary or send passports and payment details through unapproved personal messaging accounts.

10

SOTC franchise pre-signing checklist

Use the official enquiry page, obtain a dated proposal and speak independently with active and exited partners. Inspect a comparable outlet, test low-sales and cancellation-heavy months, and review territory, franchise fee, commission, targets, lead allocation, staffing, customer funds, refunds, data, renewal and exit terms professionally.
